Speaking politely with "krab" and "kah".
The word "krab" is always used by men and "kah" by women, no matter which gender they are talking to. Principally, the words "krab" and "kah" can be used in two different ways.

1. They are used at the end of the sentences to express politeness. Normally, Thai people are supposed to do this except they are familiar to each other or the speakers are more senior, whether in age or in status. But to avoid making mistake, it is suggested you do it.

2. They are used to respond to the calling. In English, if somebody calls you, you will reply "Yes". In Thai you say "krab" or "kah".
